Coach Tyler Rex:

Mr. Rex has been coaching at Esperanza for the past nine years - Varsity head coach (2020-2023) and head coach for JV and Varsity assistant coach (2013-2019). Tyler graduated from Esperanza in 2003 and helped lead the Aztecs to a CIF Division 1 Championship in 2002. He was also named CIF Player of the Year. Tyler went on to play at Irvine Valley College and helped lead the Lasers to a State Championship in 2007. There, he was named California State Player of the Year for JC.   Tyler is also the Jr. Varsity coach for the EHS women’s volleyball program and teaches Health/Medical Careers courses as well as College and Career Readiness/Health at EHS.
